Australian Tourism in China - With SMEAA and Think Global
Australian Tourism in China
Our program, which is jointly run by the SME Association of Australia and Think Global Consulting, is designed to support the Australian tourism sector in understanding, sourcing and attracting inbound tourists from China.
The Chinese tourism sector is expected to grow rapidly in the next few years. With inbound Chinese tourist numbers expected to reach almost one million by the end of this decade, and a total contribution of $6 billion to the Australian economy, the Chinese tourist presents unique opportunities for leading Australian tourism operators.
As a result of the above, Australian tourist companies have to rapidly upgrade and enhance their products, capabilities and services in order to meet the growing demand from China.
In order to engage successfully with the Chinese market, you must:
• Understand the way Chinese tourists buy
• Connect with local Chinese travel operators
• Build an online presence that is accessible, attractive and compelling to the Chinese market
• Learn about the holiday packages that Chinese tourists want
• Develop a product which takes account of cross cultural differences and language barriers
• Showcase your capabilities to delegations and potential investors and business partners from China
• Get known in China
